Emily is a highly experienced, skilled and hardworking family law, domestic violence and care and protection solicitor. She is committed to her clients and determined to achieve just and fair outcomes for them, which are in the best interests of the children.
Emily has extensive experience in parenting and property matters, including domestic violence matters, relocation matters, matters involving risk of harm to children and matters involving spousal maintenance and child support. She is also highly experienced in Children’s Court litigation.
Emily was admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in February 2014 and the High Court of Australia in April 2015. After working as a family lawyer for several years Emily decided to open her own firm in 2022 to do family law her way, with the focus always being on the clients and the children. Emily regularly appears in the Federal Circuit and Family Court, the Children’s Court and the Local Court.
Emily is a highly competent Court advocate and is very skilled in mediation and alternative dispute resolution. She has been appointed by Legal Aid to a number of solicitor panels, including the family law panel, care and protection panel and domestic violence panel. She has been appointed by the Department of Communities and Justice to represent the Department in Children’s Court litigation and by Legal Aid to represent children in family law and care and protection matters.
Emily is on the committee for the Hunter Valley Family Law Practitioners Association and a member of the Newcastle Law Society, NSW Law Society, Care and Protection Association and the Women’s Lawyers Association.
In her spare time Emily enjoys spending time with family and friends, indulging in her guilty pleasure of a great television series and is always up for a good coffee. Emily is a big nerd at heart, who after all this time will always love Harry Potter.
